Immy

A vinyl enthusiast for the ages, Immy has one of the best music collections in the game and the DJ skills to match.

Immy is a lifelong student of music history with a big passion for the NYC music scenes from 1969-1999 focusing mainly the Disco & House scenes, especially the Loft and the Paradise Garage. She collects and plays everything from ambient, soul, funk, disco & reggae to house, techno, electro, hardcore and progressive trance. A firm believer that the dance floor can be a healing space, she often cuts and throws in acapellas in club sets where she sees fit to emphasize her storytelling.

Not only a purveyor of great music, Immy is actively engaged in the local Berlin scene, bringing her love of music and Trans joy to community radio. Always looking to share her knowledge, her show ‘Fun Facts‘ on Refuge Worldwide dives deep into her brain to bring you a history behind the music that has shaped the sounds of today. Her May episode explored the intricate world of sampling and gave light to an art that has lead to whole genres being defined. Community radio has been a pillar in the underground music scene and to have someone as knowledgeable and charismatic as Immy behind the mic really is a blessing. You can catch her on Refuge Worldwide as well as THF Radio. Support community radio <3
