Cirkle

Cirkle is a techno producer and DJ based in Athens, and one of the most respected artists to come out of the Greek scene. He has been at it for more than a decade, and sees techno as something inseparable from technology and minimalism, an outlook that runs right through his music.

He came up collecting vinyl and putting on local techno nights before setting up his own studio, where he has spent most of his time since. A former resident at the Athens institutions Six D.O.G.S. and EON, he has gone on to play across Europe.

On record, the Athens label Sublunar has been a recurring home, welcoming him back across several releases including the "Sonic Surge" EP and the later "Fading Trails." His "Velar" EP landed on the Berlin label BCCO, and his track "Rythm Of Wexah" features on the BCCOMIXED001 compilation. He also works closely with Altinbas, the two releasing joint EPs like "Time in Motion" and "Cynical Moves."

His sets pull from both old-school and contemporary techno, always with that minimal thread and a real sense of texture and structure. It is hard-edged music, but considered, rooted in emotion as much as energy.

Fun Fact: Cirkle and SEVEN co-founder CRYME were stablemates at the now defunct Berlin artist booking agency Distinkt.
