Boss Priester

Boss Priester is a Dutch DJ and producer based in The Hague, and Boss Priester is his real name.

His musical journey was shaped by the Rotterdam scene, which he entered at nineteen, where he immersed himself in the city's techno culture, taking early cues from artists like Speedy J and Stranger. That gritty, industrial sound set the groundwork, but it was the more playful, groove-filled approach he encountered at events like Slapfunk that ultimately defined his direction.

His sound blends elements of minimal, house and techno, and the feel across his productions is consistently rhythm-first: groove-forward gear driven by precise drum programming, with a dreamlike warmth in the chords and flourishes, moving between heat-seeking tech house and speed garage revisionism. He values hardware experimentation and the imperfections and spontaneity that come with it, and that hands-on quality runs through the records.

He releases independently through his own BPDUBS imprint, producing limited-edition cuts with complete control over both the musical and technical side of the work. Beyond BPDUBS, his label credits span Ba Dum Tish, X-Kalay, Dungeon Meat and Locus, as well as RAW CUTS Records and Haven Trax. His 2023 "Hotel Dijon" EP on Locus was a notable moment, having long drawn support from label boss Enzo Siragusa.

His 2025 debut on X-Kalay, "No Exceptions," arrived with a remix from Harry Wills and drew descriptions of "a new-skool combination of golden era Todd Edwards and Nathan Coles." His 2026 "Respect Yourself" EP on Fuse London marked another step outward, with tracks like "Future Is Electric" pulling in UKG-influenced driving rhythms alongside the heavier, kinetic grooves he is known for. His work has drawn support from Fumiya Tanaka, Samuel Deep, Enzo Siragusa, Chris Stussy, Voigtmann, Janeret and Josh Baker.
