A for Alpha

A For Alpha is a Bristol-based DJ, producer and label head with a deep connection to underground dance music. Her introduction to house and techno came early, shaped by her mum's enthusiasm for dance music throughout the 90s and early 2000s, and those formative years remain a clear thread running through everything she does today.

Her sets draw on more than a decade of dedicated record digging, moving between sought-after classics, overlooked gems and contemporary music that shares the same spirit. Comfortable across stripped-back tech house, rolling house grooves, garage-inflected tracks and moodier late-night selections, she brings a natural feel for the dance floor whether she's warming up a room or driving it deep into the night. That range has taken her to venues and festivals including Panorama Bar, Fabric, Fold, The Cause, Phonox, Sisyphos, The Love Inn, Glastonbury, Love International, Gottwood, Madruga and No Art, as well as appearances for promoters such as SlapFunk, VBX and Club Celeste.

Away from the booth, A For Alpha hosts a monthly show on Bristol's SWU.FM and runs her own label, Alpha's Trip. Her production work centres on an AKAI MPC-2000XL, sampling from her record collection and taking cues from classic Roland hardware to make music that feels rooted in the past while sitting comfortably in the present. Releases have appeared on Fabric Records, Suckerpunch, Hardline and Alpha's Trip, building a vinyl catalogue that reflects a genuine love for the culture that started it all.
