Mixmag Latin America has published a really lovely review of SEVEN’s second Various Artists compilation, SEVENVA02, praising the release as proof that the Berlin-based imprint has become a key player in the underground. The magazine concludes that :
“with this second reference release, SEVEN consolidates its place as one of the most urgent and vital labels of the new underground European wave.”

In the review, Mixmag highlights the variety of sounds and international talent featured across the seven tracks.
From Zombies in Miami’s Unknown Pleasure, described as a nod to golden-era tech house “wrapped in atmospheric dub tones,” to Carmen Electro’s debut production Viviane, which the magazine calls “a tender techno track infused with Latin rhythms and warm piano chords,” the compilation is recognised for its emotional resonance as well as its dance floor focus.
Other stand-out mentions include Mohajer’s Pause, a minimalist cut that “maintains tension with surgical precision,” and 1morning’s Like a Funk Machine, which Mixmag says channels “raw, classic funk with organ, piano and crunchy bass.”
Byron Yeates is noted for bringing “deep, trance-tinged house with queer sensitivity” on Aetherius (Deep Zone Mix), while Prague based Pink Concrete is praised for merging “industrial punch with warmth” on Have You Ever Played Bounce.
The review closes by calling Najeh’s Workout a “bouncy, ’90s-flavoured peak-time banger.”
Beyond the compilation
Mixmag Latin America also situates SEVEN in a broader cultural context, describing it as a “global movement” that connects clubs, cities and communities through a queer and FLINTA* perspective.
The review positions VA02 as not just a strong follow-up to the label’s debut release, but as a sign of SEVEN’s growing role in shaping the sound and spirit of Europe’s underground scene.
